  23. I hope someone can help with this, please email me if you have solved
  24. this trouble.

  26. I have just got Lightwave 3.5 PAL and I am having trouble getting the
  27. layout editor screen to display properly. I have a large dead area of
  28. plain grey background on the extreme left of the screen in the default
  29. 672 * 432 pixels which covers some of the buttons. In higher
  30. resolutions I can only see the top left of the screen.

  32. If I switch off mode promotion in Prefs:IControl I get the whole screen
  33. displayed in 672 * 432 pixels, but a horrible interlace flicker inside
  34. the editors which makes them pretty unpleasant to use, but I still
  35. can't display the higher resolution screens in their entirity.

  37. I've also tried using the program NewMode to promote the screen modes
  38. in case the Commodore promotion program was to blame and whilst I can
  39. then run the program in higher resolutions the rendering screen
  40. inevitably crashes.

  42. I have used the ChangeMode program in Toaster:Utilities and I *CAN* get
  43. the modeller to display correctly onscreen in the default resolutions,
  44. but that's it. If I go from Layout to Modeller the screen is screwed
  45. up and Layout is still not working correctly.

  47. My setup is an A4000 with Piccolo SD64 24-bit graphics card and I am
  48. using a Commodore 1960 multiscan monitor. I usually use an 800 * 600
  49. SVGA display for Workbench, but I have also tried Productivity and
  50. High Res No Flicker modes - all with no result.

  52. So can this trouble be fixed ? The manuals are very quiet on setting
  53. up the program and I haven't had this trouble with any other programs. 
  54. I am a complete newbie to Lightwave and I really can't get much further
  55. until I have a usable display - so be gentle !
